Flight Sim Fields of Dreams

Something a little different........

Another interest of mine for many years has been Flight Simulation and I have toyed with it on and off but never really had a computer powerful enough to be able to really enjoy it. You always need to wait until 2 to 3 years after a Flight Simulation is released for the everyday hardware to catch up with the software !! MS Flight SImulation X is no exception and this year the computer I have now runs beautifully with it, and the add-on VFR quality scenery available.

I also took the plunge and have purchased at excellent value in the UK Saitek's Flight Sim Yoke and also their Flight Sim Pedals, along with a couple of the instrument add on's, and wish I had done this before as flying is SO much easier than using a Joystick or the keyboard and taking off and landing is a pleasure now !

Having added a lot of add-ons to the basic simulation I then found an excellent project by AEROSOFT who make add-ons for the flight sims, called ANDRAS AIRFIELD. If you get that you don't NEED to do other than use it to fly from, but you can also purchase a plot on this airfield from Aerosoft who add the name of your choice, to make it your "home" within the Flight Sim World.

I have just been fortunate to "win" the plot I was after and so am now able to fly from my own "Home with hanger" within the flight sim world <g> I will add to this page over time but for now will simply show you the airfield, plot I have bought, pictures of the house, and a link to play a video of the airfield for you all to see and enjoy. Bearing in mind what this site is about I have called the home "Sports Heaven " - as it also has a swimming pool and tennis court and plenty of room to play sports simulation games !

Andras Aviation Club

Having got my plot on the airfield I have also joined the Andras Aviation Club and look forward to some fun at the community along with my other flight sim projects

In conclusion for now

Apart from using the flight sim out of the airfield that is now my flight sim "home" I have projects to go Bush Pilot flying in Alaska, take a tour of Europe, USA and Arabia with the "Discover" series of add-ons and maybe move up from my small plane to fly the bigger passenger jets - oh and not forgetting the GLIDING which I have actually done a small training course for in reality.
